Lincoln Navigator vs. Cadillac Escalade is the American auto-industry’s heavyweight rivalry. For the 2018 Navigator launch, instead of going head-to-head, we reframed the category, placing it in an entirely different class. Rather than competing for superiority with luxury SUVs, we rose above them by betting Navigator could provide a more luxurious alternative to flying. Our media content partnership centered around a 5-minute short film, which engaged a cynical audience while showcasing Navigator as the ultimate form of transportation, helping Navigator market share increase from 16% to 26%.
