SUMMARY
As the inventor of the granola bar, with ‘Nature’ in our name, we were in a unique position to drive and scale change for the environment. We successfully transformed Nature Valley Crunchy wrapper into the first-ever store drop-off recyclable snack wrapper, but we had to address a huge issue: 80% of Americans don’t know how to recycle. We made it easier to navigate, educated people on how to recycle, inspired action and kept our technology open-source. We captured the nation’s attention, increased brand perception and saw sales lift.
