When COVID-19 swept the nation, NYC and the surrounding areas were hit hard. As a result, Memorial Sloan Kettering’s new patient visits dramatically declined as patients were afraid to seek cancer treatment amid the pandemic -- indicating an alarming point: another public health crisis was emerging. MSK therefore launched a breakthrough, multichannel PSA-style initiative focused on a critical message: Cancer Care Can’t Wait. The campaign, featuring strikingly intimate portraits of MSK doctors and staff, was tremendously successful, resulting in a dramatic up-swing in cancer treatment inquiries and patient visits.
