For Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield to keep its 4.5 government star Medicare rating, and the millions of dollars in reimbursements that come with it, we had to get more Medicare members attending Annual Wellness Visits with their doctors. Because seniors can find talking to their doctor intimidating, we created a tool to help members take control of visits called the Doc Talk Checklist. Then we used comedy to get members to using it – increasing Annual Wellness Visit participation by over 6% and helping Highmark maintain its star rating.
