To get their sales back on track, Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s had to find another brand icon. They did so, by converting their one recognizable asset, their Happy Star logo, into the mastermind of their campaign who gets you to say ‘yes’ to your inner happy.
The Feed Your Happy campaign reversed Hardee’s negative sales into positive sales, and got Carl’s Jr. to beat category sales for the first time in three years. All during a pandemic when QSR sales faced perilous lows, and being completely outspent by the category.
