SUMMARY
COVID kept Amtrak’s traditional customers homebound, so Amtrak had to attract a whole new audience. This meant making the train relevant to a new group of travelers who are used to flying and driving, without ever considering the train. We created a campaign that celebrated the joy of the train journey, showing experience-starved travelers that what they so crave is Just an Amtrak Away. In doing so, we induced major train-lust, bringing 1.7MM first-time riders onboard and beating our pandemic recovery forecast by 70% in just 4 months.
