Systemic mastocytosis (SM) is a very rare disease affecting approximately 0.01% of the population. Many physicians and patients spend years trying to piece together seemingly unconnected symptoms. In an effort to help people see their symptoms may add up to something more, the It’sSMthing campaign was able to not only locate and communicate with this rare population, but it surpassed expectations by blowing past the campaign goal of 600 opt-ins, in 1/12 of the time.
